Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the then government should take responsibility for the incident of Bhadra 23. Addressing a program organized in Kathmandu on Monday, General Secretary Thapa said that the incident of Bhadra 23 was unthinkable and tragic in the history of Nepal.

He also said that it was natural for the anger to be expressed on the streets. He said that the then government and the Prime Minister should take responsibility for the incident.

He said that no one is small in taking moral responsibility. General Secretary Thapa also said that on Bhadra 23 and 24, the Gen-Gs had protested against corruption and misrule.

What did General Secretary Thapa say?

An unimaginable incident happened on Bhadra 23. A tragic incident, a black day in Nepal's history. Where we lost many of our youth. We keep wishing that incident had not happened. Anger was expressed on the streets. There is another side to it. We immediately asked the Home Minister to resign on the evening of the 23rd and the government should bear responsibility for it.

The morality of a person holding a public position is a big thing. Political morality is an even bigger thing. No one is small than me taking responsibility for it. Whoever is in a big position should take more responsibility. How the incident happened will be investigated, but the responsibility for it should be taken by the friends in the government. I would have taken it. Whoever has it should take it. The Prime Minister should take it.
