In a joint meeting of the National Assembly's Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee and the Legislative Management Committee, some lawmakers have questioned whether the election will be held on time.

Male MP Sumitra BC questioned the government about whether the elections will be held on time or not. She said, ‘The government’s 100 days have already passed. Will the elections be held on time in the coming days? I would like the minister to clarify this.’ She also demanded that the government correct its decision to cut the services and facilities of the parliament. She said, ‘Is it necessary to remove our personal secretaries or how much development has been achieved by removing them? I would also like to know about this. And I believe that the Law Minister will correct such things as cutting the budget and stopping the plans.’

In the meeting with Law Minister Anil Sinha, Nepali Congress MP Bishnu Devi Pudasaini warned the government to make laws to facilitate the work of serving the people at the local level. She said, ‘Many things are becoming difficult due to the weakness of the law. There is a situation where the work cannot be done due to the weakness of the law at the local level. Therefore, laws had to be made to facilitate the work of the local level. The order related to the Public Procurement Act should be amended so that it is the work of the local people.’

In the meeting, Nepali Communist Party MP Beduram Bhusal expressed his anger by not saying that the government was engaged in the implementation of the Legislation Act. He drew the attention of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs to be serious in the preparation of the bill. He said, ‘The ministry has not been diligent in implementing the Legislation Act. We have seen this Legislation Act even after it was enacted. It has never been followed. This Legislation Act is not being followed.’
