Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel has claimed that the entire country is in the midst of an election. Minister Kharel made this statement at a time when major political parties are accusing the government of failing to create an environment for the election.

Speaking at a press conference organized at Singha Durbar on Sunday to inform about the work he has done in 100 days, Minister Kharel, who is also the government spokesperson, said that the election atmosphere has prevailed among political parties, the Election Commission, the government and the people. He also claimed that the government is working in the field of corruption control. Minister for Communications Kharel claimed that the government has moved forward in accordance with the spirit of the Gen-G movement. 

He said, ‘The country is now in a state of election. All political parties, the Election Commission, the government and the people are now in an election atmosphere. And the environment is being created for the upcoming elections on Falgun 21. Along with that, the government led by Honorable Prime Minister Sushila Karki has moved forward with good governance. I would like to inform you that the government as a whole has moved forward in accordance with the spirit of the Gen-G movement because this is a citizen government.’
