Kulman Ghising, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation and considered the patron of the Ujjaya Nepal Party, has said that party unification has not been possible due to problems within the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Speaking to Kantipur during an on-site inspection of the Daunne Highway on Saturday evening, Ghising said that although there is a desire for unity between them and the National Independent Party, it has not been able to materialize due to the views of the leaders of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party.

'As per the people's wishes, our friends are in dialogue with the Rashtriya Swatantra Party, but they have not been able to reach a consensus on some issues,' Minister Ghising said, 'So far, discussions have been held with each and every one of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party friends. Their leaders have different views. That is why the issue of party unity has not moved forward.'

Now that Rashtriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane has been released from custody, Ghising said that his friends are in a position to hold decisive discussions with him. 'We are in dialogue. Now there will be dialogue with Rabiji,' Ghising said, 'The people's wishes are that these two parties should unite. For that, the Rashtriya Swatantra Party should also be ready.'
