The 11th National General Convention of the CPN (UML) concluded on Thursday, electing a new leadership and passing topical political proposals.
The closed session, which was inaugurated on November 11 at Sallaghari in Bhaktapur and began on November 12 at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu, formally concluded on Thursday. Central Election Commission Chairman Vijay Subba announced the final vote results.
In the final vote results, the office bearers and members of the 301-member Central Committee led by KP Sharma Oli and the 25/25-member Central Disciplinary Commission and Accounts Commission were elected. Outgoing Senior Vice President Ishwor Pokharel was in the running for the chairmanship.
The newly elected party chairman Oli took the oath before the commission chairman Subba, while Chairman Oli administered the oath to other office bearers and members.
