National Assembly Speaker Narayan Prasad Dahal has said that preparations are underway to convene a National Assembly meeting in the second week of Poush. He made this statement while speaking at a meeting of the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee under the National Assembly, the federal parliament, on Tuesday.

Dahal also said that he is preparing to discuss with Prime Minister Sushila Karki within a few days to convene the meeting as soon as the construction work of the Agriculture Committee hall under the House of Representatives is completed.

Chairman Dahal also informed that the government is not opposed to convening the National Assembly meeting. He said that there will be a lack of business to conduct the meeting. Chairman Dahal said that although there will be business for about 10 days, there is no other business.

This is what Chairman Dahal said

I will convene the meeting on the 12th of Poush. The contractor has been told to complete the work in any case. I think the hall will be ready by the 10th or 12th. There is no disagreement yet on going to the Prime Minister and talking to him and convening the House after it takes shape. What will happen if it is implemented? But we usually hold the meeting around the 10th/12th. But now the government has no business. We have 2/3 bills. That now we have commission reports in the name of running.

Calling ministers, discussing, sitting is one thing. But there is not that much business. Now the bills that have gone there are inactive. We have 4. We have fewer bills. One bill has come through an ordinance. If it is a financial bill, the National Assembly does not have the right to discuss it. It will be discussed only in the House of Representatives. Therefore, we do not have business to discuss for more than 10 days. I have told the government to think about business. We will have to run it as it is.
