The voting process, which was scheduled to be held on Tuesday to elect a new leadership in the UML, has been postponed. The voting process has been postponed to start from 8 am on Wednesday due to a problem with the electronic voting machine. Shankar Pokharel, the candidate for general secretary of the KP Oli faction, had announced that the voting will start from 8 am tomorrow in the closed session hall.

Earlier, the delegates were standing in line as voting was scheduled to begin at 7 pm today.

Around 660 candidates have registered their candidacies for the new 301-member working committee. It is said that 80 electronic voting machines will be used for voting. 2,263 delegates will vote in the general convention. The competition for the post of chairman is between current chairman KP Sharma Oli and current senior vice-chairman Ishwor Pokharel.
