If there is no election on Falgun 21, the government's legitimacy will end: Barshaman Pun

NCP leader and former Finance Minister Barshaman Pun has said that the government's legitimacy will end if the election is not held on the scheduled date. At a program organized in Kathmandu on Tuesday, leader Pun argued that the mandate given to hold the election within six months as per the constitution would be null and void if the election is not held on the scheduled date.

Leader Pun also argued that there is no logic in the opinion that the election date can be postponed.

Leader Pun also said that the government should spend capital to keep the economy moving. He also warned the government to make arrangements to provide relief to the private sector industries and businesses that have been destroyed by the Gen-G movement.

This is what Pun said

People say that the election will be postponed because they know it. Postponing means further violation of the constitution. Because the election date has been set with only 7 days left to complete 6 months after the dissolution of the parliament. The election will be held on Falgun 21 and Falgun 28 will complete 6 months. The election date has been announced so that the results will be announced within those 7 days. Postponing the election means that the legitimacy of this government will end.

Why should the government that came with the mandate to hold the election in 6 months and not hold the election? It cannot be said that it will not hold it. It was decided after consultation. Therefore, the mandate of this government will end if the election is not held within 6 months.
