Pradeep Gyawali, who was left stranded after Chairman KP Sharma Oli did not nominate him as a candidate for the post of General Secretary, has today sought votes in favor of Oli for the position of Chairman.

On Monday, Gyawali was walking away from the Bhrikutimandap nomination venue after he wanted to re-elect Shankar Pokharel as the general secretary. But on Tuesday morning, Gyawali suddenly asked for votes in favor of Oli as the chairman and the Oli panel for other positions.

He has requested UML voters to vote for Oli and Oli's panel as it has a far-reaching meaning for the internal life of UML and challenging national politics.

He said, 'I sincerely appeal to all comrades to make the entire team led by Comrade KP Sharma Oli victorious with a brilliant vote from this general convention, which has a far-reaching meaning not only for the internal life of CPN (UML), but also for challenging national politics.'

He has also filed his candidacy for the post of central committee member. He has also requested to vote for himself as a central committee member, saying that he will always be with the party and its leadership.

On Tuesday, Prithvisubba Gurung and Gyawali also claimed the post of general secretary from Oli's side. But Oli tried to 'adjust' both of them to the post of vice-president. But Gyawali left the convention venue, Bhrikutimandap, saying that he would not run for the post of vice-president. For the same reason, he has filed his candidacy for the post of central committee member.
