Nepali Congress Tehrathum has recommended only the name of General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa for the House of Representatives. The Congress has recommended the name of General Secretary Thapa, leaving out the names of outgoing MP Sita Gurung and leader Tulsi Subba.

Four leaders, including Gurung and Subba, had aspired to become members of the House of Representatives from here. However, Thapa's name was recommended after a consensus could not be reached on the names of the aspirants, informed Congress Tehrathum President Arjun Bahadur Tumbahamphe.

Earlier, he was elected from Kathmandu-4 in 2079 BS. Along with Kathmandu-4, Thapa has also been recommended from Sarlahi-4, Rolpa and Dhankuta this time.

Among the aspirants, Subba was taken action by the party for allegedly interfering with Sita Gurung, a member of the House of Representatives candidate in 2079 BS.

Meanwhile, the Congress has recommended the names of all the aspirants from Panchthar for the House of Representatives, the National Assembly and the proportional representation. The Panchthar Congress has stated that all the names have been sent as a consensus could not be reached in the attempt to recommend a single name.

Among the people recommended directly for the House of Representatives from Congress Panchthar are 8 people, including Central Joint General Secretary Bhishma Raj Angdembe. The names of Angdembe, outgoing district president Narendra Kumar Kerung, current president Rupnarayan Javegu, former president of Tumbewa rural municipality Hom Thapa, general convention representative Kaushila Gurung, former vice president Jaya Prasad Rijal, youth leaders Dharmendra Bikram Nembang and Surya Nembang have been recommended from Panchthar.

Similarly, for the National Assembly, Chandra Kumar Angdembe, Nir Bahadur Dhamala (Bimal), Surendra Kumar Timsina and Surendra Kumar Dahal have been recommended, and for the House of Representatives, Shanta Baskota, Janimaya Thapa Magar, Tejmaya Suhang, Madhu Javegu, Gangamaya Thegim, Devi Prasad Kafle, Bimala Subba and DB Gurung have been recommended for proportional representation.
