UML leader Ishwor Pokharel has claimed that he has become a candidate for the post of chairman to run the party properly within the rules and procedures. Speaking to media persons at the party's general convention venue, Bhrikutimandap, on Monday, Pokharel said that there is a need to reorganize the party on the basis of organizational, ideological and working style.
Pokharel said that internal competition in the party's organizational life should not be taken as unnatural. Stating that there is internal competition to further improve the party guided by the people's multi-party democracy, he said that it should not be taken as unnatural.
This is Pokharel's statement
Internal competition in the party's organizational life is natural. Even when we were underground yesterday, there was competition. Now, internal competition in our party guided by the people's multi-party democracy should not be taken as unnatural. Secondly, the candidacy is for the sake of doing better than before. There was nothing else to it.
I have announced my candidacy with the aim of running the party properly under collective leadership, under methods and procedures. I would like to urge the cadre friends who came as representatives of the general convention that the party needs to be reorganized, reorganized organizationally, ideologically, and the leadership needs to be updated.
