Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal has issued a circular to its subordinate committees to recommend names of candidates for the upcoming House of Representatives elections.
The Parliamentary Constituency Coordination Committee should send the names of candidates to the District Committee by Poush 10 and the District Committee should send the names of candidates to the Provincial Committee by Poush 15 with the necessary decisions. The party Provincial Committee has decided on the list of candidates received from the District Committee and sent the list of candidates from each constituency by Poush 20, informed the Head of the Publicity and Publication Department, Purna Basnet.
According to him, the circular has been issued to send the names of candidates to the Central Office or the Federal Parliamentary Board coordinated by Party Chairman Upendra Yadav.
It is stated that the District Committee from each district will send at least three men and three women to the Provincial Committee by Poush 1, inclusive of ethnic clusters, and the Provincial Committee should discuss the list and make recommendations and send it to the Central Office or the Parliamentary Board by Poush 5.
'Any organized party member who has fulfilled the qualifications as per Article-117 Clause (3) of the party statute and wishes to be a candidate in the direct or proportional representation can apply to the central office or the Federal Parliamentary Board directly,' Basnet said. 'The Federal Parliamentary Board can take the necessary decision on the applications received in this way after consulting with the concerned district and provincial committees.'
The party has stated that when sending names to the Federal Parliamentary Board, a copy of the decision book of the meeting of the decisions made by the Constituency Coordination Committee, District Committee and Provincial Committee should be attached and the final decision on the candidate will be made by the Federal Parliamentary Board.
