Rawal, who appeared aggressive towards Oli, said that Oli should still be ashamed to say that he is powerful.
Nepali Communist Party leader Bhim Rawal has urged people not to follow leaders who are unable to protect the people during times of crisis.
Speaking at the NCP's unity message meeting held in Surkhet on Saturday, leader Rawal urged the people not to follow the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who fled in a helicopter instead of protecting the people. He said, "Don't follow a leader who flees in a helicopter. The first job of the state is to protect the people, what have you done?"
Rawal, who appeared aggressive towards Oli, said that Oli was still in a state of shame for claiming to be powerful. During the protests held on Bhadra 23 and 24, the then Prime Minister Oli, who was also the UML chairman, and other leaders were surrounded by some security agencies.
Leader Rawal stressed the need to strengthen the Nepali Communist Party, which is made up of 16 constituent parties.
Deputy Coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party, Madhav Kumar Nepal, said that the NCP should be strengthened to protect the country, republic and democracy. He urged the youth to have faith in the NCP. 'With the support and trust of the people, our party will continue to become more powerful,' he said.
