Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal has staged peaceful sit-ins and protests in front of district administration offices across the country. Carrying placards and banners, JSP Nepal staged peaceful sit-ins and protests in front of district administration offices across the country today to pressure the government to address its 28-point demands.
As per the pre-announced agitation program, JSP Nepal has been continuously holding protests and sit-ins in front of the District Administration Offices for three days.
Earlier, JSP Nepal had made public 28-point demands and submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister for their immediate implementation. Since November 10, JSP Nepal has been holding peaceful protests, sit-ins, and corner meetings nationwide to address the demands.
JSP Nepal has been demanding that the constitution be amended/rewritten to solve national problems and provide a solution to the country, state restructuring to reflect national/ethnic identity, redelineation of parliamentary/regional constituencies to ensure representation based on population, provision for an executive presidential system directly elected by the people, and implementation of a fully proportional electoral system.
Similarly, the government should address the just demands and issues raised by the Gen-G during the movement, and it has demanded that the government investigate the violence, murder, arson and destruction caused by the government's repression of the Gen-G rebellion and take action against the culprits.
The JSP Nepal has raised demands such as ending the mafia-like and commercialization of education and health services, providing agricultural loans to farmers at concessional rates, and arranging irrigation, fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, and agricultural markets.
