The newly formed Dynamic Democratic Party (GALOP) has announced that it will field candidates in all 165 constituencies across the country in the House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21.

Speaking at an interaction organized in Dhangadhi, Sudurpaschim Province, on Friday, party chairman Dinesh Prasai said that preparations are underway to field candidates for both direct and proportional elections. He said that the work of selecting candidates is underway for that.

‘Honest and capable people from the old party can also be candidates from our party. We will also include independent people,’ he said, ‘We can also collaborate with other parties whose principles and agendas match. We will field candidates in all 165 areas for direct elections and 110 for proportional elections.’

Chairman Prasai said that Galopa will participate in the government only if it gets at least 20 percent of the votes. ‘If we cannot get 20 percent of the votes in the elections, we will remain in the opposition,’ he said. He said that despite repeated political movements and changes in Nepal, economic and structural transformations have not been able to take place as per the aspirations of the people. He said that Galopa will work to fulfill the people’s wishes.

Even after receiving the party registration certificate from the Election Commission on November 24, Galopa has been reaching various provinces to make its agenda and vision statement public and collect suggestions for the preparation of the manifesto. In the meantime, the leaders have arrived in Dhangadhi. The program, attended by central members Birendra Bahadur Basnet, Radhesh Pant, Satish Joshi, Gopal Shah, Santosh Bista, Hemendra Bohara and others, discussed the development of tourism, energy, agriculture, education, health, and aviation sectors.
