The foundation stone for the construction of UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli's residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur has been laid. Oli's wife Radhika Shakya laid the foundation stone for the construction of 'Oli Kuti' on Thursday.
On Bhadra 24, the residence in Balakot was set on fire and vandalized. Oli Gundu has been living there since the government was displaced due to the Gen-G movement. Leader Mahesh Basnet has taken the lead in the construction of Oli Kuti.
‘Land has been managed by the Gundu residents for Oli Kuti,’ Basnet said, ‘The president’s residence will be built by the residents of Bhaktapur without collecting donations.’ He said that the goal is to build the residence within 1 year. ‘We are consulting on how to build it,’ he said, ‘We are discussing the necessary budget.’
He said that since the Oli residence in Balakot has been formed as a trust and handed over to the state, it is his responsibility to build it or not.
