UML Vice President Bishnu Poudel has said that the party will move forward under the leadership of KP Sharma Oli in the 11th General Assembly. He claimed that an agreement could be reached in the context of Senior Vice President Ishwor Pokharel announcing his candidacy.

‘I don’t see any reason not to believe that we should unite around the leadership of KP Sharma Oli. I don’t see it as impossible,’ he said at a program on Wednesday, ‘It is possible to compete within the party. Let it be healthy, let there be healthy competition. We should accept the results and move forward.’

He said that the two poles of the party will end at the general convention. ‘No one is in favor of searching for another kingmaker.’ This pole will last until the 29th? This pole will not last until the 29th. I see the possibility of it being completed with consensus and unity,’ he said, adding that he was not a candidate for the post of chairman and general secretary. ‘I am not a candidate for the post of general secretary, I am a person who has already become the general secretary of a powerful NCP. I will have my candidacy, I don’t know where it will be. Apart from the chairman, my candidacy will be somewhere or the other.’
