The previous vote counting in Jhapa Constituency No. 2, which was halted due to controversy, has been canceled and the counting has begun again from the initial stage.

 

The counting of votes was stopped due to a dispute on Sunday morning. After that, the counting of votes began from the initial stage from this afternoon.

In Jhapa, which has 5 constituencies, except for Constituency No. 2, the final results of all other constituencies 1, 3, 4 and 5 have been made public. However, in Constituency No. 2, where leaders such as Koshi Province Government's Minister for Drinking Water, Irrigation and Energy Ekraj Karki,  UML Jhapa District Chairman Prem Bahadur Giri, Koshi Province Assembly Member Chintan Pathak, Arjundhara Municipality Mayor Baldev Singh Gomden, UML Birtamod Municipality Chairman Subash Bhattarai and others entered the election fray to become representatives of the general convention, the counting of votes was stopped due to a dispute.

Here, influential leaders from the provincial level of the party to the city are in the election fray to become representatives for the 11th general convention of the UML. According to District Election Department Coordinator Dipendra Lamsal, 1,200 votes have been counted so far and the final results will be made public by 6:30 pm. According to him, after doubts arose in the previous count, it was canceled and the vote counting was started again from the initial stage.

In Jhapa 2, 19 people are competing for the selection of 5 general convention representatives in the open category, while the competition is from incumbent ministers, MPs, district presidents, city presidents, and mayors.

The results of the selection of general convention representatives for women and youth have been made public. In which Pavitra Pathak, Pavitra Devi Mahatara Prasai, and Sunita Kharel have been elected as representatives for women, while Khagendra Raj Angdembe has been elected as a representative for youth.
