Nepali Communist Party leader Bhim Rawal has strongly criticized the political developments under the leadership of then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, saying that there is no longer any justification for a leadership that is unable to protect national security, independence, and the heritage of the people.
Addressing the NCP's Unity Message Assembly on Sunday, Rawal made it clear that the current communist unity came with the resolve to save the country from destruction and build a self-respecting Nepal.
He was unhappy that Oli did not admit his mistakes instead of apologizing to the people. He said, targeting UML leaders, cadres and Oli, "What kind of ashes are you communists now preventing from being representatives? You have swallowed the ashes of almost two-thirds of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), you have swallowed the ashes of the CPN-UML. You have swallowed the ashes by burning our historical heritage. What kind of ashes are left to swallow now?"
He said that the incident in which the country's Prime Minister refused to leave Baluwatar without even calling a meeting of the National Security Council and finally had to flee by helicopter was a matter of national shame. He expressed his anger, saying that the leadership failed to play a role even when the centers of the legislature, judiciary and executive and symbols of independence were burned.
‘The Prime Minister of the country neither called a meeting of the National Security Council nor a meeting of the Central Security Committee... When that door opened and the fire started burning there, he boarded a helicopter and fled,’ he said, ‘The Prime Minister of a country, the Home Minister of the country, is such a commander of that country, who can be ashes himself, but saves the country from being ashes, right?’ He accused Oli of bowing his head and crying the soul of the Nepali people due to his arrogance, arrogance and misrule.
