Nepali Communist Party Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that there is no alternative to elections and has asked all party leaders and cadres to start preparing for the elections. He accused the UML of taking the opposite path and making threats.

‘The election has been announced. But the people who should have been in favor of the election without any hindrance, the people who dissolved the parliament yesterday, are now walking the opposite path, saying that it is not an election but restoration,’ Dahal said without naming UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli. ‘This is also the time to teach a lesson to the arrogant and hypocritical.’

Speaking at the unity message meeting of the Nepali Communist Party, formed after the unification of 15 constituents including the then Maoist Center and Unified Socialists, on Friday, he said that they had facilitated the President and given him the option of an election to avert the crisis that arose at that time.

‘On Bhadra 24, no leader was safe, the country was in a state of statelessness. The nation’s heritage was on fire. The country was about to sink on the 26th,' Dahal said, 'various rumors were spread outside, rumors were spread that Gyanendra was coming, rumors were spread that the President was being forced to resign, amidst those rumors, after the Chief of Army Staff called, he and Madhav Nepal went to the President's residence and facilitated a way out. We suggested a way out by forming an interim government and holding elections,' he said.

Party coordinator Dahal also said that he was working on a broad left unity. He said that after the unity of 12 left components, his attention has been focused on the UML. 'I would also like to make a special appeal to the patriotic forces within the UML to be polarized. There is a need to form a powerful communist party without any pretensions,' he said, 'We did not name the Nepali Communist Party just for nothing.' It is necessary for all patriotic forces to come together.’

He also said that some people are accusing him of unifying many components to win the election. He said that he has self-reflected on his shortcomings and has promised not to repeat the mistake.’

‘This unification process has been taken forward based on our conclusion that the country cannot be saved without uniting all patriots,’ he said. ‘We have promised to unite everyone to solve the national crisis.’ Dahal said that he is in discussions and dialogue with not only communists but also non-communists.’

Dahal said that the demands of the Gen-G youth are legitimate and that he supports them. He accused the government of carrying out the massacre on the 23rd despite being alerted. ‘We also made mistakes in the past, we did not pay attention to the interests of our grandchildren, they understand the current era and technology, they are a generation accustomed to AI . Therefore, let us all listen to the grandchildren's generation from our own homes . Let us pay attention to our children,’ Dahal said . He said that the Gen-G generation will also gradually understand who is a friend and who is an enemy .

Party co-coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal claimed that he and Pushpa Kamal Dahal played a role in giving the country a way out after the Gen-G movement . Stating that at that time, other leaders other than himself and Dahal were not known, leader Nepal said, ‘At that time, there was uncertainty about what would happen to the country . Only Prachanda and I went to the President and stayed all night . We told the President that we are with you.'

Leader Bhim Rawal said that when CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli was talking about Mission 084, he himself pointed out that the fall of 84 could happen in time.

After the unification of 15 components including the Maoist Center and the Unified Socialists, the newly formed Nepali Communist Party is preparing to hold a unity meeting in all seven provinces. Leaders and cadres have said that a unity meeting is being held from the Far West.
