Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal and Durga Prasai, coordinator of the National, Nationality, Religion and Culture Protection Campaign, have met. The talks took place at the Home Ministry on Friday.

Home Minister Aryal said that the talks with Prasain on Friday were positive and an agreement was reached to hold the next round of talks soon.

'They have also expressed their commitment that they are ready to find a solution through talks,' he said, 'The next round of talks will be held soon.'

'We have taken their demand. It has been agreed to sit in on the discussions with the Prime Minister. I requested them to present their views peacefully,' Home Minister Aryal said.

The bilateral talks lasted from 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm on Friday.

According to the Home Minister's Secretariat, the government has already held talks with Prasain's group twice before.

Prasain, who is still in the country, had written letters calling for a nationwide shutdown since 7 Mangsir. But on the night of 6 Mangsir, the agitation was called off after an agreement was reached between the campaign and the government in Baluwatar.

Police arrested Prasai on November 1 and investigated him for a crime against public peace. After analyzing that he had declared a protest and made provocative statements and that his actions could incite violence, the police arrested Prasai at midnight from his residence in Thimi, Bhaktapur.
