Janata Samajwadi Party federal president Shrestha and other leaders have joined the NCP. JSP president Ashok Rai's faction, however, did not join the unity.
Earlier, after the unity between Madhav Nepal-led CPN-S and the Maoist Center, various communist components have joined the new NCP.
