The inauguration of the 11th general convention of the UML is scheduled to be held at Sallaghari in Bhaktapur. All the programs including the closed session after the inauguration will be held at Bhrikuti Mandap, said Rajendra Gautam, head of the publicity department.

He informed that the process for the general convention has already started in every constituency department since Mangsir 20. This time, there will be a competition between Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Senior Vice President Ishwor Pokharel for the leadership selection in the general convention.

Senior Vice President Shrestha announced on Tuesday that he will be a candidate for the presidency. There is a tug-of-war between the establishment side and Senior Vice President Ishwor Pokharel's side for the selection of the general convention representative.

Leaders have started lobbying in each district to select the general convention representative for their respective parties.
