UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has accused the government of not allowing his party to hold meetings and conferences. Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on Wednesday, he expressed his anger saying that the government did not allow the party to hold its programs in Bara.

On Wednesday, when UML cadres and Gen-G youth clashed at Simara Airport in Bara, party general secretary Shankar Pokharel and leader Mahesh Basnet were prevented from attending the National Youth Association Nepal gathering. Oli targeted the same issue and asked, "How will the government hold elections if it does not allow gatherings?" He also warned that stone-pelting was being done against UML in Bara in the name of Gen-G, saying that it would not be tolerated.

'They will not allow us to speak, they will not allow us to hold gatherings, conferences. Our youth gathering was in Bara. Simara Airport was closed. The leaders were not allowed to go. They were prevented from going. They were allowed to vandalize the airport itself. Will 50/60 people come and pelt stones and close the airport? And the government says they will hold elections. How will they hold elections if they do not allow gatherings,' said Chairman Oli.

Chairman Oli also warned party leaders and cadres to move forward unitedly, saying that the opponents are attacking them. Despite allegations that Oli did not allow the rally, leaders including Krishna Kumar Shrestha, Rajiv Pahari, Kshitij Theve and others were present at the Youth Association program organized in Parwanipur, Bara.
