A demand has been made for workers to be able to vote from their workplaces in the upcoming House of Representatives elections. The Federation of Democratic Workers, Nepal Trade Union Congress has demanded that arrangements be made for workers to be able to vote from their workplaces to ensure the participation of workers at home and abroad.

The federation's officials met with the Acting Chief Commissioner of the Election Commission, Ram Prasad Bhandari, and made this demand. The federation's president Yogendra Kunwar and general secretary Ajay Kumar Rai, along with a team, reached the commission and drew attention to the fact that many workers are losing their right to vote due to the system of only being able to vote from their permanent address on the list.

They have also made demands such as forming separate clusters for representation in the state parliament and other bodies based on the proportional principle, as per the provisions of Article 42(1) of the Constitution, making the upcoming elections economical and holding the elections on the specified date.
