Minister Sinha said that the current government was formed to address the situation where the constitutional process was diverted by the Gen-G movement.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Anil Kumar Sinha has said that the interim government has no option but to hold the elections to the House of Representatives on Falgun 21.
Minister Sinha also said that the government is moving forward with a sense of responsibility to hold the elections on Falgun 21.
In the meeting of the Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee under the National Assembly on Monday, Minister Sinha said that the government is moving forward with the main objective of holding the elections.
Minister Sinha clearly stated that the current government was formed with the aim of holding elections to move the constitution forward on the right path after the Gen-G movement. He had also reiterated that there is no alternative to elections to give the country a way out.
‘A series of events in Gen-G has come. Due to that situation, the constitutional process has been diverted from the track, so we have come with a responsibility to bring it back to the constitutional process. What we have seen so far is the election,’ Minister Sinha said, ‘Our aim is to fulfill our responsibility by putting it back on track through elections. Despite that work, there are some issues that have been going on since before. The situation is not getting any better. A law related to Dalits from 2052/53 has not yet been enacted. We are focusing on its enactment.'
Minister Sinha said that the elections should be held on the scheduled date without delay to move the country forward on the path of peace and development.
