An application for party registration has been submitted to the Election Commission in support of medical practitioner Durga Prasai, coordinator of the 'Citizen Protection Campaign'.

Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai informed that the party has submitted an application for registration to the Election Commission along with a 27-member central committee.

The party has been named 'Citizen Protection Party, Nepal' and Madhav Prasad Khatiwada, 50, a resident of Jhapa, has been proposed as the president. Ishwori Prasad Bhattarai (Kathmandu) and Devi Prasad Sangraula are the vice-presidents. Prasai himself has not held any position.
