Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwaprakash Sharma has proposed to meet party President Sher Bahadur Deuba and hold a special general convention. He has suggested another option of holding a special general convention in the coming Mangsir and a regular general convention a year later in Mangsir.

Sharma said that there is no facility to move forward by rejecting it when 54 percent of the general convention delegates have signed and demanded a special general convention.

If 40% of the delegates sign and demand a special general convention, there is a mandatory provision to call it within three months. 54 percent of the general convention delegates have already signed and demanded a special general convention on Asoj 28.

Sharma said that if the Congress rejects the special general convention made mandatory by the statute, it will face a moral crisis as the dissolution of Parliament and the formation of the government will be considered illegal.

After the meeting, Sharma informed about his conversations with his close leaders. Sharma had said that if the special general convention is not held within Mangsir, he will resign as general secretary. Deuba has started talking to various parties within the party from today. A meeting of the Congress Central Working Committee has been called for Monday.
