UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has said that activities outside the constitution are not his party's business.
While going to address a meeting organized by UML Dailekh, Pokharel told media persons in Surkhet, 'It is not an option to carry out activities outside the constitution, democratic process and party consensus process.'
Stating that UML is currently moving forward by mobilizing the people to protect the constitution, peace, democracy and against the retrograde conspiracy, he said that UML is of the view that the House of Representatives should be restored.
He said that the House of Representatives itself should pave the way for the formation of an interim government. He said, 'We can form an all-party government with the consent of political parties and go to elections soon. It is not UML's view that the parliament should be maintained indefinitely.'
He said that UML disagrees with this as both the formation of the government and the dissolution of the House of Representatives are not in accordance with the constitution. He said that the new generation should understand why the peaceful rally turned into violence in the context of the Gen-G movement. Stating that the incident of conspiracy against democracy has caused extraordinary damage, General Secretary Pokharel said that it was a matter of revenge for one's own interests.
He also commented that attacking private property is a symbol of terrorism.
