The meeting was held to pressure the party for a special general convention amid a heated debate in the central working committee over whether to hold a general convention before the election.
Leader Pratima Gautam, who is also a central member, said that since there will be no regular general convention, a special general convention should be held.
Stating that the party cannot go to the election without changing its policy and leadership, Gautam said that the meeting was held to pressure leaders within the party. The meeting is attended by women leaders, including general convention delegates.
