The Supreme Court has ruled that the decision to split the Janmat Party led by CK Raut and register a new party will not be recognized.
The Supreme Court on Thursday quashed the decision to register a new party after the party split with an order of the Supreme Court. The full bench of the Supreme Court made this order, saying that the party was registered on the basis of an ordinance issued in the past and then revoked.
The bench of Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla, Sunil Pokharel and Meghraj Pokharel gave this verdict. Raut had reached the Supreme Court after the party split.
The Janmat Party led by Raut had split and one faction had applied for registration of a new party. About 20 percent of the central executive members led by Vice President Deepak Sah had applied for registration of a new party with the Election Commission.
Vice President Abdul Khan had already left the Janmat Party. The Janmat Party has 52 central executive members. Janmat had won 6 seats in the 2079 House of Representatives elections.
