The pressure to register new political parties has increased at the Election Commission. Since the announcement of the House of Representatives elections, 5 new political parties have been registered. 20 parties are in the registration process. On Wednesday, the Civil Liberties Party, Nepal received a registration certificate.

As the date for registering political parties for the House of Representatives elections to be held on 21 Falgun approaches, the number of new political parties has increased. The Commission is receiving applications for registration of 3/4 new parties daily. Applications have been received for registration of 3 parties on 24 Kartik, 4 on 23 Kartik and 5 on 21 Kartik.

According to the election work plan, parties wishing to participate in the House of Representatives elections from 1st to 10th Mangsir will have to register their parties with the Commission for election purposes. Since only parties registered with the Commission before that period can re-register for election purposes, those who are starting new parties are entering the registration process.

Political groups wishing to participate in the upcoming elections should obtain a party registration certificate and re-register for election purposes within the Commission's work schedule until 10th Mangsir, says Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai. He said that only parties duly registered with the Commission will be able to register their parties for election purposes.

There are 125 political parties registered with the commission. Political groups are in the party registration process to be added to that list. After the Gen-G movement on 23 and 24 Bhadra, the Shram Sanskriti Party led by Dharan Sub-metropolitan Mayor Harkaraj Rai, the Dynamic Democratic Party led by Dinesh Raj Prasai, with the participation of Buddha Air Director Birendra Bahadur Basnet, and the Civil Liberties Party, Nepal led by Resham Chaudhary have been registered.

Similarly, after the election announcement, two new parties have been added by splitting from two political parties. The Janaswaraj Party has been formed by splitting from the Janmat Party. Similarly, the Rastriya Janamukti Party has been listed with the commission after splitting from the Nepal Janamukti Party.

Similarly, the Ujjaya Nepal Party led by Anup Upadhyay, the Rastriya Parivartan Party led by Ajay Kumar Rai, the Nepal Liberal Party led by Gopilal Neupane, and the Communist Party of Nepal led by Netra Bikram Chand are in the registration process.

Similarly, the Janayug Party led by Nawaraj Subedi, the Hamro Party Nepal led by Khagendra Sunar, the Nepal National Youth Party led by Himalaya Bahadur Chand, and the National Energetic Party, Nepal, have applied for registration. Similarly, Chandra Prakash Subedi has filed a petition for the registration of the Sundar Nepal Nirman Party, Sabin Sigdel has filed a petition for the registration of the Nation Building Party, Ratna Prasad Shrestha has filed a petition for the registration of the Citizens' Supreme Party, and Riyaz Ahmed Shesh has filed a petition for the registration of the National Swaraj Party.

Rajkumar Kakshipati has filed an application for registration of the Communist Party of Nepal (Left Center), Sundarram Bohara has filed an application for registration of the Awaaz Party, Ganesh Kumar Mandal has filed an application for registration of the Sovereign Citizen Party, Madhav Prasad Khatiwada has filed an application for registration of the Nagarik Bachau Dal, Nepal and Akbar Khan has filed an application for registration of the Rashtra Nirman Dal Nepal. Raman Kumar Karna has filed an application for registration of the Janadesh Party Nepal and Prashant Singh has filed an application for registration of the People First Party with the Commission.

According to the Commission's Law and Political Party Management Division, the parties that have completed the procedures prescribed by law have received their party registration certificates. Spokesperson Bhattarai said that the necessary documents are being requested and the identification process is underway for those who have applied for party registration.

The Political Parties Act states that those who want to register a party should submit an application to the Commission along with the party's statute, manifesto, sample flag and symbol, a commitment that at least five hundred Nepali voters have obtained party membership, and a certified copy of their citizenship or voter ID card.

Similarly, it is mentioned that there should be a provision for a central committee of at least 21 members. After the documents are completed, the commission will identify the five hundred people who are in the central committee and have taken membership. According to the Political Parties Act, those who want to register a party must also submit the party's statute, manifesto, flag and symbol sample.

Spokesperson Bhattarai urges those who are in the process of registering a party to present the central committee and members on time for identification due to the pressure of time. 'That will take the most time,' he said, 'Identification had to be done on time, documents had to be completed, they had to fulfill their obligations. The commission is ready to fulfill its obligations.'
