CPN-UML Central Vice-Chairman Surendra Pandey has said that it is wrong to appoint a Chief Minister in Madhesh even though the Chief Minister is appointed by the UML.
Speaking to reporters in Narayangadh on Wednesday morning, leader Pandey said, "No matter what happens, it is wrong to sit in a room and decide to become the Chief Minister. It had to be done politically. How can the government be run after being formed in secret like this?" He said that there should be a discussion about why the person who will be the Chief Minister did this. "It was said that this was the entire decision of UML. It seemed as if UML itself was standing on two sides," he said. He appealed that when it is not possible, we should calm down but not go into a confrontation based on this.
Leader Pandey said that the status of all the delegates coming to the general convention will be equal. Regarding the current Chairman KP Sharma Oli's statement in the media that no one except him will speak at the general convention, he said, "Regardless of whether they are big leaders or small leaders, the status of the delegates coming to the general convention is equal. If we keep a good mindset, the party will move forward in the right way."
