Birendra Bahadur Basnet, a central member of the Dynamic Democratic Party, has announced that his party will not join the government unless it secures 20 percent of the popular vote.
Speaking to media persons after receiving the party registration certificate from the Election Commission on Monday, he announced that his party will not enter the government unless it gets 20 percent of the votes from across the country in the elections to be held on Falgun 21. He said that his party will travel in a new direction in the context of the current political environment of the country, the changing aspirations of the people and the long-term national vision. He claims that his party will work to move the country towards success as the nation is in a difficult situation.
He said, "We should move forward in terms of how we can realize it after seeing a beautiful future. That is why we are entering such a time, entering such a period, entering a life cycle. Perhaps this is a very intense and difficult life time, but we are entering it. Now we have to turn it into success."
He said that he entered politics with a long-term view. He said that he would move forward with sacrifice, loyalty, honesty and creativity for the children of the country.
He said, 'This is not just for us, but for our descendants and the descendants after that. We will unite all of this by making full sacrifice, our hard work, our honesty, our integrity, our creativity the main focus. We are coming in with a long-term perspective because we have already written in our manifesto that we will not go to government without getting 20 percent of the votes.'
He also said that the party's organizational work started after the Gen-G generation movement.
