CPN (UML) Chairman and outgoing Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that President Ram Chandra Poudel should restore the dissolved House of Representatives.

Speaking at a gathering of intellectuals in Kathmandu on Friday, he said that since President Poudel dissolved the House of Representatives unconstitutionally, the President should also restore it.

Chairman Oli claimed that his party's demand was true, insisting that the President must do so if the court does not do so. He pointed out the need for the general Nepali people to stand up in support of that demand.

Oli said, "We, every Nepali people, should protest demanding the immediate restoration of the dissolved House of Representatives. And that demand should be intensified. Whoever dissolves it must restore it. Either the court does it, or the President who dissolves it must do it. How can a President who can dissolve it unconstitutionally not restore it? It must be restored. The President who dissolves it must restore it. We must write, speak, and stand for the truth on this issue."

Chairman Oli called on everyone to join the movement demanding the restoration of the House of Representatives. He also reiterated that the current government has no standing since it is unconstitutional.
