Former Prime Minister and founding leader of the Nepal Samajwadi Party (New Power) Baburam Bhattarai has held discussions for the 'building of an alternative political force'.
Leaders Janardan Sharma, Sudan Kiranti, acting president of the National Independent Party DP Aryal, Durga Sob of NESP (New Power) and Samiksha Baskota of Bibeksheel Sajha Party, Ujya have started dialogue with Nepal's Ganesh Ghising and Raju Thapa.
He said that they discussed that only alternative political forces can solve the country's problems. 'Discussions were held on the formation of a reliable and strong alternative political force by restructuring the overall politics along with the changing Nepali politics after the Gen-G uprising and its essence,' Bhattarai's secretariat said.
Bhattarai, who separated from the Maoists in 2073 and formed Naya Shakti, is on a campaign to build an alternative force, saying that the old parties cannot lead the country's prosperity. He has formed the Nepal Samajwadi Party (New Power) and handed over the leadership to Durga Sob.
