Arrogant power did not last even 2 days after millions of gen-jis came to the streets: Chand

Communist Party of Nepal General Secretary Nekrabitram Chand has said that the Gen-G movement has brought down the arrogant regime. He said that those who fought the Maoist armed war are being insulted.

‘Jen-ji has reduced the arrogant power to ashes by sacrificing himself. Special thanks should be given to Jen-ji. I salute him,’ he said at a protest rally in Kathmandu, ‘There was a change after the people’s war. The republic came, those who shed blood in the people’s war were insulted. Farmers were insulted. The rights of the tribals were ignored. Madhesh, proletarian workers fought for their rights, but were ignored.’

He said that the Jen-ji movement exploded after the state, guns, and prisons were arbitrary. ‘Lakhs of Jen-ji came to the streets without the party’s permission. The arrogant power did not last even for two days,’ he added, ‘The way they rebelled against the corrupt power. History has taken a new turn. The Nepali parliamentary system has failed.’

He said that there are signs that the Jen-ji rebellion is heading towards failure and said that the unfinished work should be completed. "Just as the brokers captured the changes after the People's War, foreign brokers are trying to capture them," he added.
