Mahindra Raya Yadav, who has united with the Maoists, has claimed that the latest unity will erase the history of divisions in the Nepali Communist Party. At the unity declaration meeting, he said that the new party should have proportional and inclusive representation.

"The history of the division of Nepal's communists will end. A historic responsibility has come. This unity is historic," he said.

He had won the House of Representatives as a candidate from the Maoist party in the last election. Another leader of his party, Ganganarayan Shrestha, had joined the Maoists six months ago.
