Madhav Kumar Nepal, deputy coordinator of the newly formed Nepali Communist Party, has said that the main problems in Nepali politics are corruption and misgovernance.
Speaking at the party's national unity conference held in Kathmandu on Wednesday, he mentioned the need to unite with other parties, including the Maoists, for the goal of social justice and equality. He commented that in the current political system, the fascination with position is greater than responsibility and there is a lack of honesty, sacrifice and penance among leaders.
Deputy Coordinator Nepal said, 'The biggest disease of Nepali politics is corruption and misrule. Another big disease of politics is self-centered thinking. The main problem is occupying positions without fulfilling responsibilities, wanting to reach big positions but not fulfilling responsibilities. There is a lack of honesty, a lack of sacrifice and penance. Therefore, we must win the trust of the people through our conduct and behavior. We must instill trust in the new generation.'
Deputy Coordinator Nepal said that the party is committed to instilling trust and hope in the new generation, correcting the weaknesses of country building and moving the socialist front forward together. He urged the cadres of various constituents to motivate and move forward with confidence.
