Following the unification of the Maoists and the Unified Socialist Party of Nepal, the proposed 'Nepali Communist Party' has issued a 23-point commitment, stating that it will reduce the number of provincial representatives to strengthen federalism.
Leader Dev Gurung had presented 23-point commitments at the unity declaration meeting. These commitments include protecting national independence and geographical integrity, remaining loyal to the people, implementing Marxism and Leninism in Nepal in a creative manner, moving forward towards the goal of establishing scientific socialism, being committed to a democratic republic, strengthening the republic, and transforming the organs of the state.
‘Protecting the constitution, strengthening federalism, and reducing the number of provincial people’s representatives,’ Gurung informed.
Other commitments include making continuous efforts for good governance, setting up a high-level property investigation commission to take action against the guilty, ensuring speedy delivery of state services, connecting the people to basic services, and struggling to end all forms of exploitation and oppression, the party also committed to making necessary methods to establish internal democracy in the party, involving all leaders in production and labor work, strictly implementing communist conduct, and adopting a simple lifestyle.
