UML forms 'Youth Volunteer Force'

UML has formed a 'Youth Volunteer Force'. At the Youth Volunteer Force gathering organized by the CPN (UML) Mass Organization Coordination Mechanism in Gundu, Bhaktapur today, Mass Organization Chief Bhanubhakta Dhakal announced a 9-member task force under the leadership of Mahesh Basnet.

The task force was announced today after the decision was taken at the party secretariat meeting held in Gundu on Saturday, said Dhakal, the head of the public organization.

The task force includes Mahesh Basnet (coordinator), Pushpa Shrestha, Vachan Deuja, Samik Baral, Min Bahadur Shahi, Binita Kafle, Nisha Limbu, Binod Pandey and Mahesh Chaulagain. Dhakal said that the volunteer force has been formed by including those in various departmental organizations of the party and that the 'National Youth Volunteer Force' will be formally formed by November 20, along with its scope of work, working committee and division of work.

According to him, the youth volunteer force will serve the party and the people, and will also participate in reconstruction and rescue work for those affected by disasters. Stating that the CPN (UML) has started relying on state security more than public security after participating more in the government, he clarified that there is a need to form a national youth volunteer force as the loyalty and honesty of volunteers within the party are being lost.

He informed that the 'Youth Volunteer Force' is the proposed name and that a committee was formed today with the aim of making a statute for it and announcing its program and leadership in a formal manner on Mangsir 5.

According to Basnet, the Youth Force will also be deployed in floods and landslides, natural disasters, relief, rescue and rehabilitation. He said that a 'Youth Force' announcement meeting will be organized on Mangsir 5 from Baneshwor to Maitighar Mandala in the presence of 20,000 youth.

At the program, CPN (UML) Bhaktapur District Committee Chairman Vachan Deuja said that the 'Youth Volunteer Force' will be mobilized for the security of the party, leaders and the country.
