The UML has devised a method to select one out of four youth convention representatives under the age of 40 from each constituency.
The 11th National General Convention to be held in Kathmandu from November 10 to 12 has ensured one youth representative out of four. The meeting of the UML central office-bearers on Saturday decided to select about 2,200 general convention representatives. The method has been formulated to have 4 (one woman, one youth under 40 years of age and 2 open) from the first 1,200 members from each House of Representatives constituency. After that, one more representative will be selected from 800 members.
There will be 45 people from the provincial committee at the rate of 5, including at least 2 women, 47 from the special district committee 11, 30 people from the migrant community, 33 from the central office and 32 departments at the rate of 1/1, 23 from mass organizations (7 from the federation and 5 from others), 127 from the Dalit (district electoral college) and 81 general convention representatives.
Similarly, 354 representatives will be selected from the Central Committee, 29 from the Central Disciplinary Commission, 30 from the Central Accounts Commission, 25 from the Election Commission and 25 from the Central Advisor.
The Central Secretariat has also decided to shift the general convention scheduled to be held in Pokhara to Kathmandu.
