First round of discussions between NC Acting President Khadka and leaders demanding a special general convention

Nepali Congress Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka held the first round of discussions today with leaders who submitted signatures demanding a special general convention in the party.

Young leaders including Gururaj Ghimire, Devraj Chalise, Manojmani Acharya, who led the demand for a special general convention, expressed concern about the current political situation and the future of the party and stressed the need to call a special general convention immediately.

The leaders participating in the discussion pointed out the need for a change in the party's statute and leadership and expressed confidence that the special general convention would give the party a new direction. They said that the party's policy, leadership and statute should be discussed and a special general convention was the appropriate option for this.

In response, Acting President Khadka expressed his commitment to take decisions in accordance with the provisions of the party statute and said that internal discussions within the party would continue. He informed that the demand for a special general convention had also been placed in the party's central committee and office bearers' meeting. Khadka said that he would not go beyond the party's statute and statute and would take decisions in the interest of the party.

The leaders demanding a special general convention expressed concern over the current state of the party, stressing that the Congress should take a decision on a special general convention in a time when the details of the party's active members are not updated, records were destroyed in a fire during the Gen-G movement in party offices in various districts, and other competing parties are moving towards the convention.

The discussion was held in a cordial atmosphere and they are optimistic, said young leader Acharya.
