Lama's question at the Congress meeting - 'I can be removed in 24 hours, why can't the general convention be held in November?'

Central member Bahadur Singh Lama, a confidant of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, has said that he is surprised that leaders who did not even take 24 hours to remove him as the Chief Minister of Bagmati Province are now saying that the party's general convention cannot be held in Mangsir.

He also said that the general convention to be held after that will not be regular but irregular as his term ends in Mangshir.

Speaking at the Central Working Committee meeting on Thursday, Lama warned that if a regular general convention is not held within Mangshir, there will be no candidate to get a Congress ticket. ‘The schedule to be brought after Mangshir is not a regular general convention, it will be irregular, you are now fighting for the general convention whether you will have a hand in the distribution of tickets or not. If this is the situation, no one will get a ticket. Yesterday, children used to believe what their grandparents said. Now it is the opposite. Children believe what their grandparents say,’ Lama said, ‘If the leaders do not improve, continue to indulge in the tradition of staying put, and do not hold the general convention on time, it will be difficult to save the Congress.’

Supporting the proposal of General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma, Lama urged not to ignore the 54 percent of delegates who applied for a special general convention.
