CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that he is ready to step down from the party leadership.
At a program organized by the All Nepal Trade Union Federation on Saturday, Dahal stated that the post of chairman has now become normal for him and said that he is ready to make any sacrifice for the welfare of the country and the people.
Dahal said, 'Some people say - leave the party chairman. I am not only the party chairman, I am ready to make any sacrifice. The country has to be saved, the post and executive matters have now become insignificant.'
Amid demands for a leadership change within the party, Dahal made it clear that he is ready to make the necessary structural changes and hand over responsibilities until the convention.
He said, 'If the central committee has to be converted into an organizing committee and the chairman into a coordinator, I am ready. Everyone should be ready to sacrifice for the country and the people.'
Dahal urged the cadres not to be distracted and to strengthen unity within the party.
