UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has been criticized for lacking internal democracy in the party and for holding the leadership responsible for the political crisis that arose after the Gen-G movement.
Speaking at the ongoing central committee meeting in Lalitpur, the leaders said that the leadership should accept responsibility for the political crisis. ‘The leadership should accept responsibility for this political situation,’ they said, ‘we need to move forward in a new way.’ They demanded that the leadership be handed over from the upcoming general convention and said that different views should be respected.
Among those criticizing Oli are Ramlal Sah, Rachana Khadka, Jhapad Rawal, Prakash Shah, Narendra Shrestha, Surendra Manandhar, Baburam Thapa, Navina Lama, Narakumari Pun and Thammar Bista. The leaders are continuing to speak in the meeting.
