The office bearers of the Dynamic Democratic Party, founded by a group including businessman Birendra Bahadur Basnet, have decided not to run for office in the elections.

The constitution has been prepared so that office bearers cannot become candidates. The party was registered with the Election Commission on Thursday.

Party President Dinesh Prasai told Kantipur, ‘Officers are expected to focus only on party work and not participate in other election competitions. We have made arrangements to resign 6 months in advance in case of contesting office bearers.’

The party has so far arranged to have one president, five general secretaries and one treasurer. One general secretary will be Piyush Mishra for the organization. The rest will be general secretaries for good governance, entrepreneurship and equality. ‘Talks are being held with various friends, this position will be given after interviewing them on related issues,’ Prasai said.
