53 percent of the convention delegates of Nepali Congress have submitted a request for a special convention.

The tender was submitted to Acting Chairman Purna Bahadur Khadka with his signature on Wednesday.

A leader said that a petition with signatures for a special convention was given after the party officials could not agree on bringing the schedule of the regular convention within December. In the constitution of the party, there is a mandatory provision to call a special convention within three months if 40% representatives submit a petition with signatures.
