CPN (UML) General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has said that the current government wants to hold elections is just an illusion. Speaking at a program held at Gundu in Bhaktapur on Thursday, he claimed that the government had not taken any initiative to create an environment for elections.
He also complained that the government did not consult with political parties to hold elections. Secretary General Pokharel also objected that the current government was not formed according to the consultation of political parties.
He said, "The fact that this government wants to hold elections is just an illusion." Because the citizens have not realized that the government has taken any kind of initiative to create an environment for elections, neither have the political parties of Nepal, nor the security organs of Nepal have been able to realize that the government is responsible and committed in terms of peace and security . On the other hand, I would like to tell you that after the incident on the 24th, when our president resigned, then all the major political parties in terms of exit - whether we talk about CPN (UML), whether we talk about the Nepali Congress, whether we talk about the Maoist Center - what all the three major parties said is that the process should be carried out to address the demands of the protestors within the constitution, and we are ready to be a supporter for that . But that was an act of neglecting our good faith.
General Secretary Pokharel said that ignoring the request made by the major political parties to advance the process for government formation within the constitution is not acceptable.
