Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has said that periodic elections should be held on the appointed date. He said that periodic elections should be competitive, free and fair in a multi-party democracy.
Talking to News Agency Nepal, he said that political parties should play a role in conducting the election on the specified date.
He said that there is doubt that the old parties Congress, UML, Maoist, RPP will restructure themselves. Elections should be held on a certain date. Parties are needed for that. I do not think that the old parties of Congress, UML, Maoist, RPPA will be restructured. As the voice is being raised there, the fourth generation has arrived,' he said.
The interim government has set the date for the election of the House of Representatives on February 21. But major political parties have been saying that the dissolution of the House of Representatives is wrong.
